While the name implies otherwise, French silk pie was an American creation. The name refers to the light and smooth texture that leaves a silky rich feeling in the mouth.

  • 1 sheet refrigerated pie crust
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 ounces【57 g】 unsweetened chocolate, melted

  11. Stir in chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
  12. Cool to lukewarm (90°), stirring occasionally.
  13. In a small bowl, cream butter until light and fluffy, 3-4 minutes.

  16. Add confectioners’ sugar; beat until stiff peaks form.
  17. Fold into chocolate mixture.
  18. Pour into crust.
  19. Chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
  20. Garnish with whipped cream and chocolate curls if desired.
